Royal Lochnagar
After the original distillery and the one following burnt down in 1826 and 1841, Royal Lochnagar distiller was rebuilt by John Begg in 1845. Built beside Balmoral, Lochnagar distillery is one of the three permitted the use of Royal in its name. It is now one of Scotland's smallest distilleries with just two stills making around half a million litres of spirit per year.
Royal Lochnagar is open to visitors.
