Balvenie has a long and rich history, and it still produces some the finest single-malt whiskies coming out of Scotland today. Famous throughout the world for its quality and price point, Balvenie whisky is a great introduction for those that are only just getting their palates acquainted with Scotch. 

Balvenie 12-year-old is a particularly special bottle of whisky that is aged for around ten years in bourbon casks and finished for further 2 years in sherry casks. A firm favourite among whisky lovers worldwide. 

Balvenie was built in 1892 by William Grant & Sons and is still owned by the same group today. The Balvenie distillery is the sister distillery to Glenfiddich, and it still uses traditional floor malting and has its own cooperage. Balvenie uses local water from the Robbie Dubh source, and it is under the operation of Malt Master David C. Stewart (MBE) who has worked with William Grant & Sons for over 50 years. 

Together, their concepts of second cask maturation and cask finishes, which were revolutionary at the time of creation, are now common practice amongst many distilleries throughout the world today. Balvenie is located in Dufftown in the heart of the Speyside and has six wash stills and seven spirit stills with a capacity of 6.8 million litres.
